Complex on Newhall Ranch Road is first of kind to open in SCV in 14 years

On the outskirts of Newhall Ranch Road in Valencia, close to Interstate 5, sits a luxury facility.

Those who stay there can enjoy 24-hour personal care, chauffeur and concierge services and fine-dining meals from a personal executive chef.

There’s even a three-hole putting green for those looking to work on their golf game.

This facility isn’t a four-star hotel resort, it’s a senior housing facility scheduled for a grand opening on January 9.

The complex — Oakmont of Santa Clarita — marks the first time a senior housing facility has opened in the Santa Clarita Valley in 14 years.

Residents move in on Jan. 11.

Located at 28650 Newhall Ranch Road near Rye Canyon Road, Oakmont of Santa Clarita has been under construction for almost a year and media representatives in the Santa Clarita Valley were treated to a lunch and tour of the facility earlier this month.

The complex has 80 assisted living units on its property. Interested residents can choose from either a studio or one or two bedroom units ranging in size from 400 to 1,192 square feet.

Twenty-two units at the facility will be dedicated to the complex’s memory care specifically for people affected with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Other amenities at Oakmont include an onsite movie theater, a wellness center, a beauty salon, a boutique and gourmet meals from an executive chef.

“Everything is here,” said Jade Alma, marketing coordinator at the facility. “Everything’s so nice that people don’t want to leave.”

Pets are also allowed at the facility, and residents will be able to use a special pet park to allow their dogs and cats to run free.

Alma said the facility tried to keep as much open land available to allow their residents a chance to roam free and walk in the comfort of the facility.

“We have seven acres so that people are just able to walk around,” Alma said.

Oakmont Senior Living, a Santa Rosa-based, family-operated company that will operate the facility, currently operates 19 similar properties throughout California.

Seniors can still pre-lease one of the complex’s 80 assisted living units. Applications are still being accepted, according to officials. Tours are also available. The facility is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. everyday.
